What all-ages coloring books have done for what was once a kids-only activity, this book does for connect-the-dots books — and its such a welcome and refreshing activity book, that’s simple yet so fun to do, even as an adult. There are hundreds more dots than a children’s dot-to-dot book — don’t forget your reading glasses! — and the renderings are much more sophisticated than those produced for kids. You can probably tell in advance which of the 30+ international landmarks each page offers, but how we get there is a bit of a mystery — for any age.

Each page includes a cat somewhere, too, which is fun, and a bit of a red herring as you go along. The final creations are detailed, with a bit of welcome abstraction, too. I’d recommend a fairly sharp pen or pencil. My family found these so fun to do, often while watching TV or talking together, and we’d talk about the landmarks, and look them up online, and so forth. It’s such a great concept, I hope there are many more on the way!
