Sew Tina!: 30 Cute Projects & Adorable Decor Items for Kids is written by Tina Givens and published by Lark Books. The author is originally from Southern Colonial Africa and had a successful marketing career, but eventually decided to make a change. She created a lovely stationery collection, with detailed and saturated watercolors, which you can see more about here. Tina also designs beautiful fabric lines which you can see all of them here. All of the projects in Sew Tina! feature fabrics from two of her fabric lines: Fairy Tip-Toes and Treetop Fancy. The material has bright and exuberant patterns, whick make it creative and fun for children.

I loved how the sewing steps are illustrated with watercolor paintings by the author. Plus, there are additional whimsical watercolor illustrations from the author scattered throughout, which really enhance the book. At the start of Sew Tina!, there are explanations of basic sewing techniques like pleating, binding, gathering, hemming and more. And there are eighteen full size patterns tucked in an evelope at the start of the book, ready to be cut out and made into cuteness!

Sew Tina! mainly has projects for babies and young children, although there are also fun ideas that would work for older kids, like totes and backpacks and fabric necklaces. There are darling projects for babies like a moses basket, checkerboard quilt, floral mary jane booties and more, all made from her delightful fabrics.

For young boys there are instructions for easy pull on shorts, as well as a comfy lounge outfit. The reversible skirt is a great solution for young girls who find it hard to make up their mind about what to wear! There are many other projects, all with engaging photos and easy to read instructions. Tina Given’s style and creativity are evident thoughout this enjoyable book. If you’d like to sew up some fun for your kids, Sew Tina!: 30 Cute Projects & Adorable Decor Items for Kids is the perfect place to find all kinds of great ideas!
