Project Linus is a nonprofit which provides security and comfort to children in need by providing them with handmade blankets. In Quilt It with Love, it tells that they currently have 400 chapters and 60K volunteers who have donated quilts to over 4 million children (so far!). In the book, they take the opportunity to share some of the touching stories they have encountered since starting the compassionate project.

In Quilt It with Love there are over 20 beautiful quilts, with delightful designs that even beginners should be able to handle and the patterns are geared to easily be made with a quilting group. The quilts are focused on styles that children and teens would like. All of the quilts are just lovely, but I especially loved the Pocket Full of Posies style with the 9 patch blocks and applique hearts and flowers. A heartwarming story accompanies each of the quilts that tells about a child who received that particular quilt and what it meant to them.

It’s really thoughtful how they include interactive elements to the comforting quilts, like pockets to tuck special toys into or game boards on the quilt squares that enable an ill child to play games while bedridden. If you are wondering how you can help (which I certainly was motivated to do after reading the touching stories), Quilt It with Love suggests that you “make a blanket and take it to your local chapter. They will make sure it gets into the arms of a child in need.”
