Fiona Goble, the author of Knitivity and Knit Your Royal Wedding, has a new book out, called Noah’s Knits. The author tells us that two of parenthood’s greatest pleasures are reading to children and playing with them. This book and set of figures that you can knit are a perfect way to accomplish both of those goals. The story of Noah and the Ark is included in the book and is adorably illustrated with the knitted figures.

Noah’s Knits includes patterns for Noah, his wife and fourteen different animals, ranging from the simple to the more complex in terms of knitting ability. If you are new to knitting, there is a large section at the start that shows in detailed illustrations the techniques of stitches, as well as how to start and end the knitted projects and other helps for stuffing and finishing them. I’ve really enjoyed reading the story to my children with the darling pictures, although it may take me a little longer to get all the figures knitted! I appreciated the little extra of the cardboard ark tucked into the back of Noah’s Knits to display the knitted figures on and also for acting out the story!
