I used to draw dot-to-dot patterns when I was little. I enjoyed it, and sometimes would color in my illustrations afterward. I’ve noticed that one of my daughters’ interest in coloring is waning, which I can understand. So, I’m introducing her to dot-to-dots with Calming Dot to Dot. But these patterns/drawings/puzzles aren’t very similar to the illustrations I made! They feature much more complex drawings with many, many more “dots” — hundreds of them!

The subjects are much more artistic also, and include things like scenic windmills, pirates, animals, or ballerinas. The lines do not simply outline the figure but offer some shading as well. As a result, the dots don’t reveal much about what each design is beforehand, so there is a guessing-game element to them, also.
