This is such a wonderful book — as in, full of wonders — and so remarkably beautiful, too. The hard binding, printing, and paper all top-notch, yet the dimensions suggest that it is a simple picture book — but what picture book is over 125 pages? Further, it’s more than a graphic novel, as well. Every page seems to be filled with a half-dozen or more beautiful watercolors and drawings, many of them from the young girl’s sketch book. The story involves the rehabilitation of a mistreated elephant as it is reintroduced to a natural elephant life. There are magical moments of delight throughout as it reaches new steps in its development. This would be a wonderful gift for anyone who loves animals, and seems like a must-have for any library.
