This is a lovely picture book, written in free verse, with each two-page spread featuring a mini-narrative based on different flowers. Each poem is wonderful, evocative, often heart-warming, and always very clever. The strikingly lovely colored-pencil illustrations are reminiscent of the D’Aulaire’s classic works, which is the highest praise any illustrator could hope for. Wonderful!
