This historical fiction book for kids reminds me of the many classic books I most enjoyed as a young person. I don’t see so many of those high-quality and high-adventure books being written lately, so this is a welcome shout-out, and may prove to be something of a classic in its own right. The story puts “historical” in “historical fiction” in several ways, with the spy-style story being set during the World War 2 era, yet to solve their dilemmas, the group of children must learn about history and folklore themselves (especially the King Arthur tales) in order to succeed. Delightfully clever, with a fun group of kids that any kid would love to spend time with.
