Thank you for visiting!
My daughters love making all kinds of dolls. So they’re loving all the great ideas in this book, with many designs or features in whatever approach of look they’d like. The introduction features lots of help so they can learn how to do basic stitches (by hand or machine), with explanatory text on how they can be adapted to represent looks or characters they’re interested in. There are larger and smaller instructions and basic patterns that you adapt, along with mochi versions (the kind of little dolls that lie flat). All are quite cute, easy to make, and with inexpensive materials. This is a wonderful way for all of us to be creative and have a cute little doll as a keepsake!
Literally every online user needs to know what’s in this book. I think the very best remedy for this quandary — for myself AND my kids — is this entertaining and remarkably well-designed book, which is chock-full of delightful layouts (in color and grayscale) and helpful tips. Every page offers valuable info on avoiding damaging content, viruses, and more. Chapters focus on various topics like avoiding untrustworthy people online, defamatory content, cyberbullying, and avoiding scams, viruses, phishing, and more. It’s a lot to talk through, but this book — with every page being laid out with clever design elements and an ongoing comic story interspersed throughout — has helped my kids and me discuss the problematic things we can avoid online. It’s a big help for our always-online family!
