My kids love for me to read (and re-read) this magical storybook! It’s a perfect picture book for St. Patrick’s Day, yet is fun and appropriate any time of the year. This is a colorful, engaging story starring a squirrel — who is also a leprechaun! The grass is always greener, even when you are magical (and have a pot of gold), so he decides to change himself into a variety of other occupations wherever he finds other animals happily at work (as long as it isn’t leprechaun-ing). When it turns out to be mostly that (work), he changes back and continues his search for… something. In the end, it turns out that what he was really looking for was true friendship (and, apparently, someone to spend all that gold with). The book is fun to read, the illustrations are charming, and it’s quickly become a family favorite.
