Thank you for visiting!
This is an engaging and fun-to-read board book about an easter egg hunt and different things you can do with your chocolate eggs, like throwing “your eggs around and make a licky sticky mess!” The illustrations are fun, with the idiosyncratic style used in the illustrations in Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and other books. The book features silly, invented words, not unlike the style of Dr. Seuss. This book has five two-page spreads, two lift-up flaps, and one cutout hole to reveal the eggs found on the next page.
This breezy introduction to Easter and its many delights also reviews the Literary (and Cinematic) Roald Dahl universe of delightful characters, from Muggle-Wump the Monkey to Mr. Willy Wonka. Easter baskets and chocolate eggs, Formula 86 and the Enormous Crocodile all make an appearance, helping children to learn more about our Easter celebrations. Quentin Blake continues as Dahl’s illustrator creating a happy little book that is carefree, warm, and funny.
