There is a saying on the Internet: “Always be yourself! (Unless you can be Batman; in that case, always be Batman.)” But what if you are Batman already? Then what? This delightfully clever and inspiring book illustrates how we need to be true to ourselves first and foremost, even when we’re a little introverted (like Batman). It showcases in direct, yet humorous text, how “you don’t need to be the fastest or strongest to be a super friend… you just need to be you.” The winning illustrations are colorful and engaging.

It is a wonderful concept, with restrained, yet perfect execution, in what seems to me and my quieter children as an instant classic. Without a doubt, this unique children’s book is my favorite published this year. My children love it, too. It is truly amazing “on [its] own terms.”
