I don’t know if patience is the hardest lesson for my children to learn, but it has been a lesson I still need to learn — and re-learn — daily. And that’s the beauty of this charmingly painted children’s book. The younger of two owlets is asking their older sibling all about the coming snowfall — especially what it will sound like. But the eldest is too young to remember clearly.
Will it sing like the wind, she wonders? When the snow finally does fall, she learns that it falls with the sounds of silence. Sometimes a quiet patience is the greatest gift of all. This is fun book to read and re-read, especially out loud, as the made-up songs are fun to say and sing. The illustrations are lovely, and fun, while the binding and printing is top-notch.
